Kathrin Morasek dedicated her doctoral thesis to the development of methods for the epidemiological assessment of chronic diseases. She is part of the Ludwig Boltzmann Research Group on Aging and Wound Healing and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Arthritis and Rehabilitation and is primarily focused on estimating the incidence and prevalence of chronic wounds in Austria.

Kathrin is an occupational therapist and a sociologist. Due to her many years of work experience in a social paediatric centre, she holds practical experiences and competencies in direct patient contact and in interdisciplinary cooperation. Her in-depth health and social science background has been applied to the analysis of health and medicine-related research from different perspectives. Her current research interests include minimizing health inequalities and improving treatment outcomes for the widest variety of patient groups possible.
