Barbara Bachmann

As a postdoctoral researcher at SHoW, Barbara Bachmann’s research focuses on creating a vascularized equivalent of human skin (vascuSKIN). This skin equivalent will subsequently be able to replace animal models and be used for interventions to study cellular aging and healing. Her scientific work to date has included organ-on-a-chip models, allowing her to develop tissue models for vessels and cartilage. Barbara is also involved in the project management at SHoW. She values open exchange – with her colleagues as well as with people outside the world of research.
